Choosing a Breast Surgeon in Sydney for Breast Reconstruction

Are you looking an accredited breast surgeon in Sydney for a breast reconstruction procedure?

If you’re looking to undergo a breast reconstruction operation, one of the most significant decisions that you’re going to make is the selection of your breast surgeon in Sydney.

Breast reconstruction is among the most difficult and delicate of breast surgery operations. Hence it’s important for women to take their time throughout the selection process and put in the time and effort to make sure that they make the right decision. Now that begs the question – how exactly should you go about doing just that?

Opting for a qualified surgeon in breast reconstruction

A good place to start scouting the right surgeon for the job is to ask as many questions about the procedure as you can.

Arrange a consultation with your prospective surgeon and bring up any concerns that you might have. If necessary, write everything down if only to make sure that get everything across. Take notes and don’t hesitate to ask any question no matter how silly it might seem.

You might also want to consider bringing a friend or family along who might have some questions of their own. Needless to say, you would want to opt for plastic surgeons in Sydney that take the time to address your concerns and adequately answer all of your questions. If the surgeon seems all the least concerned about doing the latter then it is unlikely that they truly understand your needs and capable of providing the desired results.

Also take the time to ask for referrals from past clients as well as “before and after” photos to make sure that they have demonstrated the skill necessary for such a delicate and complex procedure.

More importantly, you would want to make sure that your surgeon is board certified and has the necessary credentials. Of course you need not simply take their word for it and contact the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons to validate everything.

Yet another thing to look out for is whether or not the surgeon takes the time to make sure that you are a good candidate for the procedure. Surgeons that would do otherwise are likely more concerned about making money above anything else which is certainly not a good sign.

Are you a good fit for the operation?

So let’s say that you’ve found a breast surgeon in Sydney for a reconstructive breast operation. The next step is to determine whether you are actually a good candidate for the operation. You may have an underlying medical condition that would hinder with the results or the recovery process. Whatever the case, qualified and reputable surgeons in Sydney are expected to consider your safety as a top priority!
