All about Vaginoplasty

What is Vaginoplasty?

Also known as Labioplasty, Vaginoplasty is a cosmetic surgical procedure designed to tighten a woman’s vagina which can naturally loosen with age. Some surgeons believe that the procedure can also provide better sensitivity, although the subject remains to a subject of much debate in the industry.

Is Labiaplasty surgery for you?

Some women interested in Labioplasty surgery often look into the procedure for a heightened sexual response which is something that surgeons simply can’t guarantee with any amount of certainty. Although vaginal tissues can indeed stretch with age, any attempt in tightening it cannot ensure the desired results since sexual responses can be attributed to a number of other factors like orgasm, arousal and desire. Many believe that such responses are conditioned physically which is only partly true since emotional and mental factors also need to be considered. More importantly, vaginal tightening doesn’t necessarily translate to better sexual sensitivity.

Now, having said all that, to whom is vaginal rejuvenation in Sydney really for? Well, while the subject can be too personal for most women to even discuss, many can often feel embarrassed about the appearance of their vaginas. Common issues include the excessive protrusion of the labia minora (the inner lips of the vagina) which can be the cause of much discomfort in some women. Such a condition may also affect sexual satisfaction for women and that of their significant other. Labioplasty surgery is a fairly safe surgical procedure that can reduce the vaginal lips to a smaller and a more desirable size.

Some women also choose to undergo the procedure for a cleaner and more hygienic appearance. Dr Tavakoli has performed over 400 Vaginoplasty operations in his career with a complication rate of less than 2 percent! Call us today on 1300 368 107 and book a consultation!

Vaginoplasty is a delicate cosmetic surgical operation and one that requires much consultation and research. It can be a deeply personal matter for women who’ve all probably spent hours pondering about whether or not they should push through with the procedure. Needless to say, it can be awkward to even talk about even in a consultation setting. However, with Dr Tavakoli, women can rest assured that their needs are in the safest and most capable of hands.

Risks and possible complications

As a cosmetic surgical procedure, Vaginoplasty is certainly not without its risks that are no different from other type of surgical operations. Such risks include:

• Long-term changes in sensation

• Excessive pain

• Excessive scarring

• Infection

One good piece of advice that Dr Tavakoli can give to any woman interested in Vaginoplasty is to openly discuss the matter with their surgeon during the consultation along with the feelings or concerns about their genitals and what you actually expect out of the procedure. Doing so would help you and your surgeons set the right expectations and make the most out of the Vaginoplasty operation.
