All about vaginoplasty
Are you interested in undergoing vaginoplasty or vaginal tightening in Sydney and looking to learn all that you can about such a procedure? Well it’s exactly what it sounds like – the surgical tightening of one’s vagina. Women can opt for the procedure for a number of reasons the most common of which is to improve sexual experience although this something that no plastic surgeon would ever guarantee.
Now unlike most other type of surgical operations (including labiaplasty), vaginoplasty is not a constructive operation but rather it is aimed at tightening vaginal tissues that have loosened over time often with age or following child birth. Some consider it as a part of post-pregnancy surgery.
What are the risks involved in vaginal surgery?
Vaginal surgery should be performed by an experienced and appropriately qualified plastic surgeon. Having said all that, vaginal tightening in Sydney is still an invasive surgical operation. Hence it involves the same risks as any other surgical operation: adverse reaction to general anaesthetics, scarring, excessive bleeding, risk of infection, etc. Beware of any surgeon who claims to tell you otherwise.
What to expect?
Vaginal tightening generally takes around an hour to complete and is performed in an out-patient basis. Your surgeon will aim to tighten the vaginal muscles and eliminate extra skin and tissues that contribute to laxity. Plastic surgeons can accomplish all that in 2 ways – traditional surgery and laser surgery. In the case of the latter, it is less invasive although the cost can be higher compared to conventional surgery.
Expect to deal with some discomfort several days following the operation although most patients are able to get back to work after a week or so.
