The quick guide to labiaplasty / vaginaplasty recovery time

If you’re considering undergoing labiaplasty or vaginaplasty, you might be wondering how much time to set aside after the surgery before you can get back into the swing of  your daily routine.

Dr Tavakoli's team has prepared this quick guide to give you an idea of what to expect.

Immediately after surgery:

It’s normal to expect bruising and swelling for the first 24-48 hours after surgery. You’ll be given special care instructions - it’s important to follow them carefully.

Week 1:

In the first week after labiaplasty / vaginaplasty surgery it’s important that you stick to gentle daily activities.

Week 2:

In the second week after surgery you can resume light walking and household duties.

Weeks 3 to 6:

In weeks 3 to 6 following your labiaplasty / vaginaplasty you can begin can begin walking on a treadmill along with light exercises. Most patients can return to work at this time.

If in doubt at any time after your labiaplasty or vaginaplasty surgery, or if you feel any pain while exercising, STOP! It’s important that you take care and don’t overdo it.
