From sunny California to Double Bay Sydney, our freshly hatched Dr Tav Angel, Shannon journeyed across the globe to have breast augmentation in Sydney with renowned Plastic Surgeon Dr Kourosh Tavakoli.
So what makes someone travel half way around the world to have breast augmentation? Well for Shannon, the decision was easy. Unsatisfied with the results surgeons were producing in her own town, Shannon turned to social media to expand her search. Here she found Dr Tavakoli and instantly liked what she saw. She delved further into her research where she was able to connect with past patients of Dr Tavakoli, all who highly recommend him.
Shannon then reached out to Dr Tavakoli’s clinic via the website where she was required to submit a series of videos of her breasts to determine suitability for the procedure.
Following this, Shannon had a consultation via distance and was then able to book her surgery date.
Her in person consultation was scheduled for the day prior to her procedure and it was at this appointment Shannon was able to have a feel of the breast implants and ask Dr Tavakoli her final questions.
Dr Tavakoli uses intra operative sizers to choose the final implant size and shape, however, during her consultation, Shannon was able to try on the breast implant sizers and pick a size that she felt suited her body and aesthetic goals.
With surgery booked the following day, Shannon was able to go out for dinner and enjoy a final meal before she was scheduled to fast for her procedure.
The day of her procedure, Shannon reported feeling really hungry due to the fasting but was extremely excited to finally have her breast augmentation with Dr Tavakoli.
The procedure itself went for 1 hour and Shannon spent some time in recovery before she was discharged from the hospital and allowed to go back to her airbnb to recover.
The first portion of the night was difficult for Shannon who felt the implants were tight and heavy on her chest, however, once she had her pain medication under control, the pain and discomfort was much better.
Shannon spent a total of 2 weeks in Sydney before travelling back home to San Fransisco.
